Cindy Garofalo
Born in Luxembourg in 1982, Cindy Garofalo took her first music steps with Francis Schummer at the Conservatoire of Esch/Alzette and she continued studying there for a number of years until she gained the diplôme supérieur in clarinet and chamber music. She added to these qualifications with diplomas in harmonics, counterpoint, sight-reading and transposition, theoretical and practical teaching.
Cindy then pursued her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels (Belgium) under Jean-Michel Charlier and Ronald van Spandonck and in 2005 she graduated with a master's degree in music.
After two years of further studies at the Regional Conservatoire of Music, Dance and Theatre in Nancy (France) and at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg, she rounded off her clarinet studies with the Concert Diploma under the supervision of Olivier Dartevelle.
Throughout her education she worked regularly with renowned professors such as Eduard Brunner, Walter Boeykens, Wolfgang Meyer, Martine Leblanc and Michel Arrignon to develop her technique and musicality.
For one season, she also played as an intern with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
Cindy currently works as a music teacher for the Ugda Music Academy. As a member of the Trio Aurora she regularly performs in Luxembourg and abroad.
